{telecanvassing supreme}

Wow, a bit late on an update here, but unfortunately one must keep up with one’s day job otherwise one will be unable to blog at all.

So after work yesterday I skipped on over to Thusa (FYI :
http://thusa.co.za/) for some extreme telecanvassing for Haniff Hoosen’s "Let’s do this together" campaign for DA KZN Provincial Chairperson. Let me just take this opportunity to say that I have never telecanvassed ever before in my life in the history of ever and it usually takes me a while to warm up to people before I am totally comfortable and can actually speak real words to them, so let’s just interpret that as; I was a bit nervous.

I arrived at Thusa early and sat around chatting to two of the Thusa guys for a bit (Danny shave your beard) and waited for someone to arrive so that I could get crack-a-lacking and hopefully be a little less red-faced by my millionth phone call. I felt like I was going to pass out. I have issues, whatever guys.

John Steenhuisen, DA MP and all round great guy, was in charge of the telecanvassing for the evening, while Haniff Hoosen, Dean Macpherson, Rory Macpherson and Warwick Chapman were in Kokstad to prepare for the debate against the opposing candidate for KZN Provincial Chairperson, Greg Krumbock.

As soon as all the other telecanvassers had arrived, John immediately briefed us on what we were to say and which box to tick, when what was said and who to call and what to write. It was way less confusing than it sounds above. We were all given canvassing sheets and phones and set to work.

When I was asked by Warwick to help canvass on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, I had no idea what to expect, I was nervous and so worried I was going to bugger something up, but I was so keen to help in any way possible, that I just said yes and got on with it.

I can’t really put into words the excitement that was buzzing around that little telecanvassing room last night. The momentum and the desire and dedication from every person to win every possible vote for a candidate that we all believe can truly make the biggest change to our gorgeous province, a candidate who will bring KZN together and will spread that momentum, desire and excitement like wild fire. So many massive good vibes, I felt like I was a part of a well oiled machine. Once I got into the swing of things I started really enjoying myself, chatting to the most wonderful people and hearing some of their thoughts on Haniff. It felt like every single person that said “Yes”, every single tick I marked off and every single positive comment was a personal victory. John Steenhuisen and Nicole Graham were so helpful, kind and inspiring, it really made it a lot easier to be rid of my unnatural embarrassment issues. Thanks eh guys.

I can hardly explain how amazing it feels to get involved in something you feel strongly about. I had such a blast and sorry for whoever is reading this, but I didn’t take any photo’s because it was tip-top secret, just kidding, I was too busy making my mark on the delegates voting for Haniff this coming weekend, to even take one photo, but never fear there are 2 more evenings of telecanvassing that will allow for ample photo opportunity

Thank you to Haniff’s “Let’s do this together” campaign team for letting me come along and help and for being so inspiring and awesome!

“Let’s do this together

Ps. Happy Birthday Warwick ♥ x

{the first day of a new week}

It is a really rainy, overcast and bed-weather kind of Monday in Durban.

But alas, my day is going to be filled with matching buttons to fabric swatches and approving all sorts of packaging concepts that have been put to paper over the weekend. None of that cut and paste nonsense that I have been seeing in one of the campaigns for KZN Provincial Leader *ehem*. Oh dear. So I will be doing all those fashion-designery sort of things while people change the future of our country and carry on with their plight to save the world. Someone has got to do it... the designing I mean.

Once this day has dashed by and 4:30pm swings round I will be buzzing across to Thusa to help out with Haniff Hoosen's tele-canvassing for his "Let’s do this together" campaign for DA KZN Provincial Chairperson. A really well thought out and well put together campaign for an amazing candidate (not one of those cut and paste jobs) The favouritism is strong in this camp. I will be sure to post some pics of the other tele-canvassers and some of the other people involved in Haniff's campaign. Later this evening after we have worked our campaigning-tele-canvassing magic. Hey, don't look at me like that; I'm just floating along here.I have started with two cups of strong coffee in an attempt to boost my energy levels, it has not worked, I think a Vit B 12 is next on my list today.

Later on I will be posting my whole entire, big, fat and uninformed, side-liner opinion of the up and coming congress. Get excited, it is bound to be a hoot.

I love Owls
